A Northwest Coast silver bracelet with a story in every line.
Hand-engraved with the signature “AIS,” this bracelet is attributed to the late Kwakwaka’wakw artist Alfred Seaweed of Alert Bay, British Columbia. The initials are incised directly into the inside of the bracelet, a personal touch that connects this piece to the artist’s hand. Alfred Seaweed’s work in silver and gold is highly respected and highly collectible.
Across the front, finely worked formline shapes, cross-hatching and split-U details bring the design to life. The Eagle and Raven appear together—a striking pairing rich with story and symbolism. In the interpretation shared for this piece, they’re affectionately called “lovebirds,” representing devotion, balance and the harmony of opposites. It’s a meaningful design to wear close, and a remarkable example of Northwest Coast Indigenous silver art.
The bracelet has a polished interior and a clasp closure. It feels like the kind of piece you’ll reach for when you want your jewelry to carry a little more meaning than sparkle alone.
