The glowing oval cabochon is often described as confetti opal glass or dragon’s breath opal glass. Tiny flashes of colour appear suspended beneath its surface, shifting from fiery pink and orange to purple, blue and green as the pendant moves through the light.
Just as special as the glass is the craftsmanship surrounding it. The cabochon has been carefully framed in hand-worked sterling silver, with textured details that reflect Mexico’s celebrated silversmithing tradition. The back is stamped “Hecho En Mexico,” Sterling and 925, along with the Mexican Eagle 3 assay mark and an intertwined PGS artisan signature.
The Eagle 3 mark was used by the Mexican government between approximately 1950 and 1970 and is associated with silver produced in the Taxco district. The PGS logo represents the individual artisan or workshop responsible for creating the piece.
